1x First show of 2018

1X is a showcase of ANU School of Art & Design staff works of art & design which runs from 6 February – Saturday 24 March 2018 at the ANU School of Art Foyer Gallery.

Only one work by each artist is exhibited and each artist must operate within the dimensions of 1 x 1 x 1 m. My first group exhibition of the year I took the opportunity to show a letterpress work I made during my PhD research but which hasn’t previously been seen outside the ANU SOA&D book studio. It might be seen as a precursor to my Unlicensed Plates.

The text is deliberately offset and colliding to reinforce the theme underpinning the work, Car Crash Celebrities.
