The Camera Unrepair Shop

The Camera Unrepair Shop is part installation, part durational performance and part analogue photography. It turns its focus to the camera as the subject of experimental enquiry. In doing so it explores the camera’s ubiquity and the role its mass production and consumption have played in the way we have experienced and imaged the world throughout the 20th and 21st centuries. Throughout the course of the exhibition cameras will be dismantled, ‘processed’ and remade into portraits using camera-less techniques. Through a deep attentiveness to the camera and getting to know it through de-construction I aim to reimagine how we might view it and its photographic histories.
